i want to answer in all modesty, that for us, promotors, it's much easier to watch all the netlabels in one spot, with a rss feed, and a bookmark service, then to watch a melting pot of newsletters, forums, rss-feeds, websites, ...
I hope i'm not speaking for myself.
Anyway, thanks for the input.

Embe, you're absolutely not alone with this view. Having everything at one place that will persist even if the original label has long gone to meet its maker in digital heaven should be reason enough. The poster's response suggests that to him archive.org is just another resource where he can pluck his promo posts and that seems to be all he cares about.

And I'm speaking as someone who owns 2 dedicated servers with unmetered bandwith. I'm just uploading here because archive.org allows me and others to search for and listen to music, even if I do not know a label (which can easily happen nowadays).

Chiming in here, especially if you're CC-licensed, it's great to just be uploading BACKUP copies here. There are several examples of netlabels that had awesome free music, and just disappeared. If they'd had a backup copy here, people could still be listening to their tunes.

I know the Archive doesn't have perfect bandwidth and flow for everyone, but I'm hoping everyone has some time to use it to mirror their releases.
